Dr. Malgorzata Ciesielska

Malgorzata holds PhD in Organisation and Management Studies from Copenhagen Business School and MSc (Hons) in Business Management degree from the Warsaw University, Poland. Before joining the Newcastle University Business School in 2010, she was a full time junior lecturer and a PhD researcher at the School of Management of Warsaw University, at the Economic School of Växjö University, Sweden and at the Department of Organisation of Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. She used to teach various undergraduate, graduate and MBA courses, in particular organisational behaviour and critical management theories, cross-cultural and international management, and a qualitative research methodology. Currently, she is working in the Research Hub for Inclusion through the Digital Economy on the business models related to the connected home technologies.

Other Expertise:

Malgorzata was also a consultant on intellectual property rights and data protection in pharmaceutical industry. In 2003-2005 she held a position of EU Coordinator in pharmaceuticals in the Polish Ministry of Health. Her responsibilities included acting as Poland’s representative on pharmaceutical legal issues, including property rights and registration procedures in European Commission and Council of the EU. In 2006 and 2007 she also conducted couple of studies on good gender policies and diversity manaegement in Polish companies as a part of the UNDP pro-equality program.

Funding
In 2008 her research project on trust in Open Source - business collaboration networks won a VELUX Fonden grant and was financed for the consecutive three years.
In 2006-2007 she was financed from the United Nations Development Programme “Gender Index” to investigate the best gender policies among Polish enterprises and public institutions
