Newcastle University's Business School wish to appoint a full time Research Associate to contribute to the business theme of the £12million RCUK funded Research Hub for 'Inclusion through the Digital Economy'. This represents a rare, exciting new opportunity for an ambitious e-Business and Information Systems researcher to make an impact within a large, multidisciplinary environment. The main focus of this appointment is to identify, map and implement emerging strategies, business models and organizational innovations enabled by information and communications technologies (ICTs) across different sectors and domains, from articulating business concepts and system requirements to developing and implementing new prototypes in various practical settings.
The successful candidate should have completed, or be near completion of a PhD in an area related to e-Business and information systems. You must be self-motivated and a team worker, and be able to conduct research and system development both independently and under supervision in multidisciplinary teams. You should also contribute to the development of new research proposals and publications. Domain knowledge of ICTs in ageing and assisted living, the creative industries and transport are helpful but not essential.
