Interdisciplinary AI safety workshop at Newcastle University
The Centre for AI Safety at Newcastle University has announced the final call for participation in its forthcoming interdisciplinary workshop on AI safety, taking place on 5 May 2026 at the Urban Sciences Building.
The workshop will bring together researchers from computer science, engineering, business, law, philosophy, and the social sciences to explore the technical, governance, and societal dimensions of safe and trustworthy AI deployment. The workshop is designed to create a structured forum for cross disciplinary dialogue, short position talks, and the identification of shared research challenges emerging from real world AI implementation.
Particular emphasis will be placed on connecting technical robustness with questions of accountability, public value, and responsible innovation in the context of the North East’s growing significance as an AI growth zone.
