CONTEMPORARY ISSUES IN E-BUSINESS, E-GOVERNMENT AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS

The e-Business & e-Government Track at BAM2009 will provide a lively and friendly forum for academics, practitioners and policy makers to present and discuss their latest thinking in e-Business, e-Government and information systems. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to:
- E-Business incorporating e-Marketing, e-Commerce and M-Commerce;
- E-Government & E-Public Services, including e-Health and e-Learning;
- Information Systems – contemporary issues and emerging technologies, infrastructure and services
- Emerging opportunities and challenges.
Following our successful collaboration with the Creative and Cultural Industries Track in organising a special session at BAM2008, this year we have also teamed up with the UKAIS (UK Academy for Information Systems) and the E-Marketing SIG (Special Interest Group) of the Academy of Marketing to organise two special themes within the track. You are encouraged to submit relevant papers to the special themes as well as the joint session.
Contemporary Issues in Information Systems

The area of Information Systems is engaged in many challenging debates at the present time. To reflect the diversity of interests we would like to encourage submission of papers around (but not limited to) the following themes:
- Information Systems and Critical Social Theories – Ethical Practice
- Social Networking, Web 2.0 and Implications for IS development and practice
- Are Information Systems Strategic? IS and Business Alignment
- Organisational Issues, Change Management and IS implementation
- IS in the Public and Private Sectors, Contextualisation of IS and Organisational Culture
- Globalisation and IS
- IS and Organisational Misbehaviour – Potential for Deviant behaviour in the workplace
E-Marketing: New Opportunities and Challenges

E-Marketing has provided many exciting opportunities for organisations to connect with their customers and other stakeholders. This special theme invites the submission of papers around (but not limited to) the following themes:
- The role of social networking in marketing research and/or marketing practice
- Application of interactivity in commercial and non-profit marketing
- Customer trust in the online environment
- Integration of e-marketing with traditional marketing tools
- Adaptation of e-marketing for global markets
- Maintenance of brand values in the online environment
- The use of E-CRM for customer acquisition and retention
E-Business and the Cultural and Creative Industries

Following the success at BAM2008, this year we will once again organise a special joint session between the E-Business and E-Government Track and the Creative and Cultural Industries Track. We would like to invite papers which examine (but not limited to) the following issues:
- The impact which technological changes and e-business have had upon the cultural and creative industries
- How new technologies have changed creative work, introduced new financial models and changed how customers engage with creative and cultural industries.
- The interplay between E-Business and the Creative and Cultural Industries are welcome as are papers from a wide range of methodological and theoretical perspectives.
Submitting Your Papers and Proposals
Both empirically and conceptually based full papers and developmental papers are welcome. We also invite proposals for Symposium and Workshops. Like previous years, selected papers will be published in a journal special issue and possibly also in an edited book.
