Digital Debate: Omni-channel: debating the future of retailing

Omni Channel and Supply Chain Management

In the second part of the event Prof Michael Bourlakis will analyse these contemporary consumer trends focusing on the 2020 European consumer. Subsequently, the consumer perspective will be provided in relation to omni channel focusing on supply chain dimensions. Finally, the major supply chain-related benefits and synergies (e.g. better use of inventory, cost efficiency etc.) for the retail firms involved will be highlighted. The presentation will analyse the consumer's perspective and will focus on supply chain-related issues. Hence, it will provide an alternative perspective as part of the Digital Debate by stressing the critical role of distribution / supply chain for retail firms aiming to implement omni channel strategies.

The presentation will conclude with a discussion on the key operational challenges.
