Research Assistant/Associate

We wish to appoint a Research Assistant/Associate to contribute to our new £2 million TSB/ESRC project on Sustainable business models for Assisted Living Technologies and services in the digital economy (SALT). This represents an exciting new opportunity for an ambitious researcher to work alongside senior academics and other researchers from a range of different disciplines, as well as to engage closely with senior representatives from our business partners in the private, public and voluntary sectors. The main focus of this appointment is to assist the project leader to identify sustainable business models enabled by digital technologies, and explore their implementation in assisted living technologies and services in the ageing society. The successful candidate is expected to take initiative in drafting research reports and papers for journal publications, and disseminating results to different stakeholders. You should have completed, or very close to completion of a PhD in e-Business, business information systems, or a related business management or other social science discipline, and a good first or Master degree in e-Business, information systems, business management, or economics. You should be self-motivated, flexible, a team player and an excellent communicator both in engaging with academics from different disciplines and with external organizations. It is essential that you are able to work effectively under pressure towards tight deadlines and are ready to take on new responsibilities as they arise. Domain knowledge of ageing and assisted living and/or health and social care in the digital economy is an advantage but not essential. The researcher will also benefit from the rich multidisciplinary environment of the £12.6 million Digital Economy Hub

This post is full-time and fixed-term for up to 3 years.
